Boz Scaggs Tickets

Boz Scaggs was the best example of white soul music to hit the scene in the 1970s, but it was his eclectic range of musical styles that kept Scaggs relevant well beyond.

The History of Boz Scaggs Tickets

Boz Scaggs was born William Royce Scaggs on June 8, 1944, in Ohio. He was raised in both Oklahoma and Texas, but attended prep school in Dallas. It was there he met guitarist, Steve Miller; Scaggs joined Miller's Band, the Marksmen, as a vocalist in 1959, and Miller and Scaggs continued their relationship when they both attended the University of Wisconsin together.

After college, Boz Scaggs returned to Dallas and began singing with the R&B group the Wigs. The band relocated to Europe, and although the band did not last (the other two members left Europe and headed for home), Scaggs remained and tried to revitalize his music career. After a couple failed EPs, Scaggs also returned to the U.S. and reunited with Miller. It was there he rejoined Miller's band, which was now the popular Steve Miller Band, and recorded two popular albums with the group.

Boz Scaggs left the Steve Miller Band in 1968 to take on a solo career, and he soon landed a contract with Atlantic Records. Although the album was a critical success, it never caught on commercially. Scaggs then went to Columbia records, where he released an R&B album that also did not experience success.

Although he continued to release music, it wasn't until 1976 that he began to experience success on the music charts. Some of the popular songs during the next few years included "Lowdown," "Lido Shuffle" and "Jo Jo."

After some years out of the limelight, Scaggs returned with his album, Other Roads, in 1988. Other albums followed in 1994 and 1997, and he released a jazz album in 2007, much to the delight of Boz Scaggs tickets holders everywhere.
