A History of Grooving with Charlie Wilson Tickets

Charlie Wilson, also known as Uncle Charlie, was born and raised in Oklahoma and learned to sing early on with the church choir.  His singing talent was obvious as he sang throughout his high school days in a band he formed with his brothers called the "Liberators."   Eventually, the name of the band changed to The Greenwood, Archer, and Pine Street Band, which morphed into The Gap Band.  In the late seventies and early eighties The Gap Band found great success with hits such as "I'm in Love", "Shake", "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" and "Party Train."

As The Gap Band wound down, Charlie began a solo career in the early nineties with his debut album "You Turn My Life Around."  He also during this time worked with Snoop Dog, helping him with his 1996 album "Tha Doggfather."

In 2000, Charlie released "Bridging the Gap" and followed that with "Charlie, Last Name, Wilson" in 2005, which became certified gold.
