Gorillaz Tickets

Gorillaz is a little bit of everything all mixed up into one exciting, twenty-first century musical group. Calling themselves the first "virtual hip-hop group," Gorillaz gained their popularity for their melodic tunes and reggae rhythms and have become a hit along club goers and MTV crowds alike.

The History of Gorillaz Ticket

Gorillaz first debuted in 2000 when they released their Tomorrow Comes Today album. Immediately following the release of this popular album, Gorillaz released their self-titled album in 2001 and really began their rise to fame and success. This album reached platinum in the U.S. and sold over seven million copies worldwide.

Following the successful self-titled album, Gorillaz released their first DVD in 2002. In 2003, the members of Gorillaz began successful collaborations with the likes of De La Soul, Shaun Ryder, Debbie Harry, Dennis Hopper and Martina Topley-Bird.  A successful album, Demon Days, soon followed, and Gorillaz found themselves enjoying another double-platinum album in America. This album also received great success in the UK and received a number of Grammy nominations.

Although Gorillaz started work on their next album, Plastic Beach, in 2007, it wasn't released until 2010.

Gorillaz Tickets: What to Expect

The best way to describe Gorillaz is to expect the unexpected!  They are considered a "twenty-first century update of such animated groups as the Archies, the Chipmunks and Josie and the Pussycats."

Gorillaz is comprised of a number of highly talented musicians, as well as one well-known illustrator, Jamie Hewlett, who created the band's cartoon characters. This "virtual band" surprised many critics by garnering a considerable amount of attention and commercial success.

Gorillaz is a funky, eclectic blend of hip-hop, reggae and punk sounds, thereby distinguishing themselves from the pop sounds of their predecessors.

Gorillaz Tickets: Who Should Attend?

The idea for Gorillaz was hatched when Damon Albarn, a member of the successful British rock band, Blur, was sharing a flat with Hewlett. With a mixture of unique artistic traits, Gorillaz has taken the idea of a cartoon band and made it incredibly likable and appealing. Aside from their unique visual elements, Gorillaz wows crowds with their animation, which is projected onto a large screen during concerts.

Often said to "experiment with the mainstream," Gorillaz appeals to music fans who enjoy funky, reggae sounds and hip-hop beats. It is the novel animated theme of Gorillaz that has attracted fans, but it is the sound of their music that has kept a loyal following.
