The History of Jim Gaffigan Tickets

Born in Chesterton, Indiana, Jim Gaffigan gained much of his popularity and notoriety throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s. In fact, his original standup act began in the early 1990s, when he began making the rounds on the late-night comedy shows, including Late Night with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. After a few successful runs, Jim Gaffigan was soon booked repeatedly and became a staple on the late-night comedy circuit.

Letterman, because he was so impressed by his performances, commissioned his company, Worldwide Pants Incorporated, to produce a sitcom for Jim Gaffigan. The show was called Welcome to New York, and it cast Gaffigan as Jim Gaffigan, a former weatherman from Indiana who moves to New York and lands a job on a morning talk show called AM New York. Although the show was short-lived (it lasted just a few months), Jim Gaffigan continued his television work on the Ellen DeGeneres show, The Ellen Show.

By 1999, Jim Gaffigan took a number of supporting roles in films such as Three Kings, Super Troopers, Igby Goes Down, and 13 Going on 30. Jim Gaffigan released his premier comedy video, Jim Gaffigan: Beyond the Pale, which was an hour-long special on topics such as food, holidays and religion. He also played a supporting role in the 2006 psychodrama Stephanie Daley and landed a lead role in the 2008 biopic, Life of the Party.

Some of the other projects Gaffigan worked on included: animated shorts for Late Night with Conan O'Brien, the HBO series Flight of the Concords, the Sam Mendes-directed dramedy, Away we Go and the teen comedy, 17 Again.

In 2010, Jim Gaffigan also announced his first Broadway performance in That Championship Season, which is due to open in Spring 2011.
