Maryland Terrapins Tickets: Historical Overview 

Over 88 years of basketball competition, the Maryland Terrapins have won 60% of its games while making 24 appearances in the NCAA tournament.  The school's first strong run in hoops came under the direction of head coach Lefty Driesell in the seventies. From 1971-72 to 1975-76, Maryland recorded five straight top 15 finishes.

Over the last two decades, current head coach Gary Williams has led the Terps in a capable manner. From 1993-94 to 2003-04, the school made 11 consecutive trips to March Madness.

Overall, Maryland has won eight ACC basketball titles (5-regular season, 3-tournament).

While the university is more known for basketball, the football program has also recorded many fine seasons. The Terps have reached 24 bowl games over the years. In addition, Maryland has won nine ACC championships on the gridiron.

Championship Seasons

Maryland has been able to win national titles in both basketball and football. In hoops, the Terrapins were able to record consecutive Final Four trips in the last decade. After losing in the national semi-finals in the prior season, the 2001-02 club reached the NCAA championship game against Indiana. The Terps claimed the title with a 64-52 victory over the Hoosiers.

In 1953, Maryland secured a national championship in football with a perfect 10-0 regular season under head coach Jim Tatum.

For basketball, the Maryland Terrapins compete at an impressive venue that is one of the newest arenas in the ACC. The Comcast Center (capacity of 17,950) was opened prior to the 2002-03 season. In a modern facility, Maryland Terrapins tickets provide spectators with top flight ACC hoops action.

In football, the Terps take the field at Byrd Stadium (capacity of 54,000).

Maryland Terrapins Tickets: 2011-12 Season

In the 2011-12 basketball campaign, the Maryland Terrapins will be seeking to rord a 19th consecutive winning season. A battle against ACC rival Duke will be among the eight conference matchups on the home slate.

On the gridiron in 2011, new head coach Randy Edsall will try to build on last year's 9-4 mark for the squad. The Miami Hurricanes will be the headline opponent on this season's home schedule.  In addition, Maryland Terrapins tickets will be sold for home games against West Virginia, Temple, Towson, Clemson, Boston College and Virginia.
