NASCAR Tickets

The biggest racing series for NASCAR tickets include the Sprint Cup Series, the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series. The headquarters for the organization are located in Daytona Beach, Florida, with other offices in North Carolina, New York City, Los Angeles and Bentonville, Arkansas.

NASCAR Tickets: Event History

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) was founded in 1947 by Bill France Sr. Today, this family-owned and operated association is the largest sanctioning body of stock car racing in the United States.

Daytona Beach became renowned for its racetracks early in the 20th century. This location became the race town of choice due to the ability to set land speed records. When Daytona Beach officials recognized the racing potential of their area, they asked dirt track racer Sig Haugdahl to engage in race promotions for them. Haugdahl and France became good friends during this time, and they began to promote races in the area together. When Haugdahl finally gave up on the venture and left the area around 1937, France stuck around and made NASCAR tickets the valuable commodity they are today.

Memorable Highlights with NASCAR Tickets

NASCAR tickets have given fans many memorable races, with a number in the last decade alone. In 1991, an exciting finish between Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip gave Waltrip his 81st career Winston Cup victory. In 1993, Earnhardt came back to win the Coca Cola 600, despite numerous penalties against him throughout the race.

The 2001 Cracker Barrel 500, which took place just three weeks after Earnhardt's untimely death, saw his business partner Richard Childress experiencing a bittersweet victory with driver Kevin Harvick's first NASCAR Winston Cup victory.

Jeff Gordon was the man of the moment in 2002, when he won the Sharpie 500 in a tight finish with Rusty Wallace. The victory was Gordon's fifth at the Bristol Motor Speedway, but his first in a night race.

For more memorable moments from NASCAR history, fans can visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlottesville, North Carolina, where many of the top drivers are commemorated.
