NFL Pro Bowl Tickets

At the NFL Pro Bowl, fans can watch the top superstars in pro football. NFL Pro Bowl tickets enable spectators to enjoy a unique brand of football that showcases the best players on the field.

NFL Pro Bowl Tickets: Historical Overview

The first NFL Pro Bowl was held at the conclusion of the 1950 season. From 1950-69, the game was played each January at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. In 1970, the contest matched the top players from the American Football Conference (AFC) against the standouts for the National Football Conference (NFC) following the merger between the AFL and NFL.

During the seventies, the game was held at several different venues. Since 1979, the NFL Pro Bowl has taken place in Honolulu, with the exception of the 2009 game (which was played in Miami).

In the last two seasons, the contest has been held the week before the Super Bowl.  Subsequently, Pro Bowl players from Super Bowl squads do not play in the contest under this new format.

The NFL Pro Bowl has some unique rules due to its status as an All-Star game. For example, offenses aren't allowed to shift or motion prior to a play. On the other side of the ball, defenses aren't allowed to blitz. Since the merger, the NFC holds a 21-20 edge over the AFC.

NFL Pro Bowl Tickets: Memorable Highlights

Because it is an All-Star game, the NFL Pro Bowl is usually a high-scoring affair. This has led to many wild and exciting games over the years. There have also been many contests that have gone down to the wire in the NFL Pro Bowl. This would only make sense, since both rosters are comprised of the very best players from each conference. Over half (21) of the AFC-NFC Pro Bowls have been decided by a touchdown or less.

In the last decade, the offenses have really taken over game. Since 1999, four teams have exploded for more than 50 points in the Pro Bowl. In the 2003 contest, the NFC won a 55-52 shootout over the AFC in the highest-scoring Pro Bowl ever. The NFC also put up 55 points in a 14-point victory over the AFC in 2010.

NFL Pro Bowl Tickets: 2011 Season
