Primus Tickets

Primus' music has been described as everything from "avant-guard" to "bizarre" and "willfully weird." To an individual not familiar with their music, Primus is an enigma, but to Primus fans, it all makes perfect sense!

The History of Primus Tickets

Established in 1984, Primus is currently comprised of the following members: Les Claypool on vocals and bass; Larry LaLonde on guitar; and Jay Lane on drums. Primus' debut album, Suck on This, was an instant success, as were their next four studio albums: Frizzle Fry, Sailing the Seas of Cheese, Pork Soda, and Tales from the Punchbowl.

Some of their biggest hits from these albums included: "John the Fisherman," "Jerry was a Racecar Driver," "Tommy the Cat," "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver" and "My Name is Mud." If the titles of their music are any indication, there is nothing ordinary about Primus or their style of music.

They then released Brown Album in 1996 and Antipop in 2000, at which point they went on hiatus.  In 2003, Primus reunited to release a DVD entitled, Animals Should not Try to Act Like People and began touring in 2004. Primus welcomed back drummer Jay Lane in 2010, and the group began a cross-country tour. Immediately following the tour, they released June 2010 Rehearsal.

Primus Tickets: What to Expect

A thumping drum base, outrageous vocals, and rhythm with a little funk and a bit post-punk are what you can expect from Primus.  Their experimental style, however, not only has attracted fans for a number of years, but has led them toward pop stardom.

First an underground phenomenon, and then a commercial success, Primus is an American rock band that simply can't be pigeon-holed.  Perhaps the only thing you can expect from a Primus show is the unexpected.

Primus Tickets: Who Should Attend?

Primus has often been characterized by their "irreverent and often non-serious approach to music."  Bizarre vocals, with a main focus on bass, Primus is characterized as rock, but is really much more. Fans or Primus have been along for the ride since their inception nearly three decades ago, but they have also managed to attract younger audiences as well, as their music always manages to stay relevant to today's fan.

The songs of Primus are often secondary to their love of the instrument, and their experimental sound has made them quickly and easily distinguishable in the world of both pop and rock music.
