Ted Nugent Tickets

Meshing conservative politics with rock music, Ted Nugent is a musician, guitarist and activist. Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1948, Nugent has enjoyed a long, solo career and a strong following for his conservative views on gun rights, hunting and politics.

Ted Nugent has released over 34 albums throughout his career and has sold an astonishing 30 million records.

The History of Ted Nugent Tickets

Ted Nugent's career began as a lead guitarist for the Amboy Dukes in the 1960s-1970s. He was best known, at that time, for his use of Fender amps and for his hollow Gibson Byrdland guitar (the Gibson Guitar Corporation has since developed a guitar model named after Nugent).

After a short stint in Chicago, Ted Nugent moved the band back to Detroit, where they recorded their first hit, "Baby Please Don't Go." Shortly afterward they hit the charts in a big way with their hit, "Journey to the Center of the Mind."

Although Ted Nugent and his band were experiencing commercial success, they made very little money due to poor management. They were also bouncing between record labels during this time.

Ted Nugent's talents and over-the-top sounds were featured in the Amboy Dukes, but the real Ted Nugent was perhaps just as outlandish, as he quickly developed his own on-stage antics and quirky wardrobe. As an avid outdoorsman, Ted Nugent often donned deerskin, feathers, and loin clothes when on stage.

Ted Nugent broke away from the band and went solo in 1975. He released his self-titled debut album that same year and introduced the songs, "Motor City Madhouse" and "Just What the Doctor Ordered," among others. Although he released many solo albums, many feel that Ted Nugent experienced the most success as a member of Damn Yankees during the 1990s.

He toured regularly throughout the late 1990s and was the opening act for Kiss' Farewell U.S. Tour in 2000.
