Texas Longhorns Tickets

Since beginning play in 1902, the Texas Longhorns have been a big winner on the gridiron. The Alabama Crimson Tide is the only team to appear in more bowl games than Texas. Over the years, the Longhorns have come away with 29 conference championships.

While there is a lot more attention paid to the school's football squad, the basketball program has also fared quite well. Texas has reached the NCAA tournament 29 times. In March Madness, the Longhorns have made three appearances (1943, 47 and 2003) in the Final Four.

Championship Seasons

The Texas Longhorns have captured four national championships in football. Under legendary head coach Darrell K Royal (1957-76), Texas won three national titles during an eight-year stretch (1963-70).

In 1963, the Longhorns recorded a perfect 11-0 campaign to win the first national championship for the school. Six years later, the Longhorns were on top of the college football world again after another 11-0 mark.  In one of the most famous games in the history of college football, top-ranked Texas edged past #2 Arkansas late in the regular season to solidify its status as the best team in the nation. Texas was able to register a repeat as the national champion in the following year as well.

In 2005, current head coach Mack Brown led Texas to another championship. In that year's BCS title game, star quarterback Vince Young led a dramatic rally late in the game to defeat USC.

On the hardwood, the Longhorns have won 27 conference championships (25-regular season, 2-tournament).

In football, the Texas Longhorns take the field at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium (capacity of 100,119). The venue is one of just a few college football stadiums to seat more than 100,000 spectators. Texas Longhorns tickets enable fans to watch one of the marquee squads in the game.

For hoops action, the school competes at the Frank Erwin Center (capacity of 16,400).

Texas Longhorns Tickets: 2011-12 Season

With some promising talent, the Texas Longhorns will be vying for a Big 12 football championship in 2011. BYU and Texas Tech will headline the club's home slate this year. Texas Longhorns tickets will also be sold for home games against Rice, Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kansas State.

In basketball, the Longhorns will attempt to nail down a 14th consecutive NCAA tournament bid in 2011-12. Texas A & M and Baylor will be among the conference foes that will be on the team's home schedule.
