Tommy Emmanuel Tickets

As one of Australia's most popular and gifted instrumentalists, Tommy Emmanuel has achieved world admiration and a beautiful catalog of memorable music, selling Tommy Emmanuel tickets wherever he goes.

The History of Tommy Emmanuel Tickets

Born on May 31, 1955, in New South Wales, Australia, William Tommy Emmanuel first began playing the guitar at the tender age of four. He started his first band, the Emmanuel Quartet, in 1960 with his brothers. It was not uncommon for Tommy, during his years as a young boy, to practice up to 16 hours a day.  In fact, he even spent much of his time performing in local pubs, selling Tommy Emmanuel tickets at a very young age.

By 1964, the family had taken to the road, and living out of their family's two station wagons, they began touring Australia, with Tommy playing rhythm guitar. Eventually the New South Wales Department of Education insisted that the family stop touring and selling Tommy Emmanuel tickets so the children could attend school.

After the death of his father, the family moved to Sydney, where he began to receive recognition when he won a series of talent shows. By the late 1970s, he and his brother, Phil, were playing in the group Goldrush. He eventually left to become lead guitarist for The Southern Star Band and then joined the 70's rock group Dragon in the early 1980s. Dragon experienced a nice degree of notoriety, as they opened for Tina Turner during her 1987 tour.

Afterwards, Tommy Emmanuel left the group and embarked on a solo career. He became a member of the John Farnham Band in 1994. He and his brother, Phil, also performed at the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympics in 2000.

Tommy Emmanuel's life took yet another turn when he was invited to sing with the Australian folk song, Waltzing Matilda, in 2002, at the Washington National Cathedral for a service for the victims of the Bali bombings.

Tommy Emmanuel Tickets: What to Expect

Tommy Emmanuel's guitar technique most clearly resembles the Atkins' musical style, which is the act of playing the bass guitar with the thumb and the melody of the song with the first two or three fingers at the same time. Although he never had formal training, his guitar skills have gained him worldwide notoriety and fame.

Tommy Emmanuel Tickets: Who Should Attend?

Tommy Emmanuel once said: "To me, music is something that is beautiful and positive. If I can pass that torch on to others, then I'm happy."

He has collaborated with a number of many, highly admired artists throughout his long and exciting career and has composed and arranged many songs that have gone on to become popular releases.  For Tommy Emmanuel ticket holders, they will see a man highly versatile in his musical abilities, playing everything from jazz and rock and roll to bluegrass, country and classical.
