B.O.B. Tickets

B.O.B. has achieved early success - at just 17 - and has been on a meteoric rise ever since.

Artistic, eccentric and multi-talented, B.O.B. has achieved both commercial and critical success for his rapping, singing and songwriting talents.

 B.O.B. Tickets

Born in North Carolina in 1988 as Bobby Ray Simmons and raised in Atlanta, B.O.B. began making music and playing instruments, including the trumpet, throughout grade school. His talents led him to a management company by the time he was in high school, and by the time he was 15, he had already sold a beat to Slip-N-Slide artist Citty.

In 2006, B.O.B.'s manager got him into Club Crucial, and he impressed the audience with one of his self-produced songs. TJ Chapman, an industry big shot, was in the crowd that night and agreed to co-manage B.O.B. This collaboration quickly to a contract with Atlantic Records and its subsidiary imprint, Rebel Rock.

B.O.B.'s first single, "Haterz Everywhere," in 2007, reached the Top Five on Billboard's Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Single's Chart. MTV quickly took notice of B.O.B. and named him as an "Artist to Watch." B.O.B.'s next single, "Grip Your Body," which featured Amy Winehouse, also took off.

"I'll be in the Sky" was released in 2008 and ranked number 13 on the Top 100 Rap Songs of 2008. This hit single was then followed up with another single, "Don't Let me Fall."

It wasn't until 2010, however, that B.O.B.'s popularity really began to take off when he released his singles "Nothin' on You" and "Airplanes." Both of these highly successful singles appeared on his album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray.

The Adventures of Bobby Ray received much critical success, including several nominations at the BET Awards, the Teen Choice Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards. He also performed at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, alongside the line-up of Eminem, Linkin Park, Kanye West, Drake, Usher, Paramore, and Justin Bieber.

In addition to his solo career, B.O.B. is also part of a rap production group called Ham Squad.

B.O.B. Tickets: What to Expect

This Atlanta rap artist experienced success at an early age, despite the influx of rappers on the scene at the same time. It was likely his artistic songwriting abilities and "Dirty South appeal" that have catapulted B.O.B. into stardom, and he has worked with a number of notable artists, such as Rivers Cuomo, Hayley Williams, Dr. Dre and Bruno Mars, thereby making his star rise at any even faster pace.

B.O.B. Tickets: Who Should Attend?

B.O.B. describes his influences as "80s music, rap, techno, rock, fun, even doo-woop." His influences, combined with his collaborations with a number of artists, have no doubt affected the vibe of his music.
