On the gridiron, the Boston College Eagles have won 58% of its games with 22 bowl game trips. The program's first surge came in the late thirties. From 1939-42, BC played in three New Year's Day bowl contests.
The Eagles rose again in the eighties behind star quarterback Doug Flutie. In 1984, the school finished fifth in the nation, as Flutie captured the Heisman Trophy. The signal-caller delivered a memorable "Hail Mary" pass to defeat the Miami Hurricanes that season.
Currently, the program is working on a run of 12 consecutive winning campaigns!
The hoops program has also won 58% of its all-time outings. BC has appeared in the NCAA basketball tournament on 18 occasions.
Prior to 1991, the Boston College Eagles played as a football independent. After 14 years in the Big East, BC joined the ACC in 2005. The school won its lone conference title on the gridiron in 2004 with a 9-3 record under head coach Tom O'Brien.
In basketball, the Eagles were an independent club until joining the Big East in 1979-80. Over 26 seasons in the difficult conference, Boston College captured six regular season conference championships (1980-81, 82-83, 96-97, 2000-01, 02-03 and 04-05). The university also won a pair of Big East tournament crowns (1996-97 and 2000-01).

On the hardwood, the Eagles play at the Conte Forum (capacity of 8,606). In addition to basketball, the BC hockey team also competes at the arena.

Boston College Eagles Tickets: 2011-12 Season
Led by star running back Montel Harris, the Boston College Eagles will be seeking a 13th consecutive bowl game appearance in 2011. An ACC matchup against the Florida State Seminoles will highlight this year's home schedule. Boston College Eagles tickets will also be available for home outings against Northwestern, Duke, Massachusetts, Wake Forest and North Carolina State.
In hoops, BC will look to build on last season's 21 victories. The home slate will include eight conference affairs.
