Curious George has been a beloved character in children's books since 1939, and now the loveable monkey is hitting the stage in his very own live event!
The History of Curious George Tickets
Originally written by Hans Augusto and Margret Rey (who also went on to publish many other children's books), the Curious George books features a curious, but well-meaning brown monkey who is caught and brought home by the Man with the Yellow Hat to live in the zoo in the big city. It is the adventures of this little brown monkey in the big city that were chronicled in the Curious George books for so many years.
Some of the earlier books begin with George escaping from the zoo and going on several adventures before the Man with the Yellow Hat and brings George to live with him. These stories have been called the "Original Adventures" of Curious George.
Over the years, children all over the world have enjoyed Curious George, and the books have been translated into many languages. Just some of the countries that now enjoy the adventures of Curious George include: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Japan, Israel and the United Kingdom.
Houghton Mifflin is the current published of the Curious George books in the United States.
The 1980s saw a series of animated television films about Curious George; these adventures were eventually turned into books, called the "New Adventures." PBS Kids then released a new television series in 2006 as part of the PBS Kids Preschool Block.
In addition, a full-length, animated film was released in 2006 and, in 2010, a direct-to-DVD sequel was released.
