Flyleaf Tickets

Dark songs with a hard edge may be the sound of Flyleaf, but it is their Christian beliefs and ideals - both of which play an important role in their music - that is their hallmark.

Although they certainly possess an alternative metal band vibe, Flyleaf has managed to break into the mainstream rock, Christian pop and Christian metal genres, making a solid name for themselves along the way.

The History of Flyleaf Tickers

Flyleaf, which was formed in Temple, Texas in 2000, originally consisted of members Lacey Sturm and James Culpepper. The two guitarists, Jared Hartmann and Sameer Bhattacharya, were soon recruited, and the group began to experiment with a number of influences. Over the next two years, Flyleaf released three EPs and played over 100 shows throughout Texas.

In 2004, they played a showcase for RCA Records; although RCA Records did not sign them, the president of Octane Records, who saw the showcase, did. They were signed almost immediately after the showcase in 2004, and soon after they traveled to Seattle to record another EP. The EP was released in the fall of 2004, which spawned their first single, "Breathe Today."

The next year saw the release of their debut album, and the record was released with their new name, Flyleaf (they were originally called Passerby). This album produced a number of hit singles, including "I'm so Sick," "Fully Alive," "All Around Me" and "Sorrow."

Flyleaf tickets sold well during their summer tour of 2006, the Family Values Tour 2006. They later toured with Disturbed, Stone Sour and Nonpoint and sold plenty of Flyleaf tickets during the Music as a Weapon III Tour.

More Flyleaf tickets sold in 2007, as they toured throughout Australia for the Soundwave Festival tour; they also toured Europe with Stone Sour and Forever Never. They then headlined their own tour, Justice and Mercy tour, in the spring of 2007.

After many more tours and sold Flyleaf tickets, the band took the fall of 2008 off to write new music. In 2009, they recorded their second album and began performing live again, and in November 2009, the band released a short Webisode for their new album and toured throughout 2010 with the Unite and Fight tour. Flyleaf recently began work on their next album.

Flyleaf Tickets: What to Expect

Flyleaf is one of those bands that are simply difficult to pigeonhole. They have been referred to as hard rock, alternative metal, heavy metal, nu metal, post-grunge, and alternative rock. But it is the Christian faith of the band's five members that has greatly influenced their music.

Flyleaf Tickets: Who Should Attend?

The band members of Flyleaf said of their music: "We all had different influences that were all blending together with the same passionate and hopeful heart, and that brought out this beautiful feeling. It was magical."  Their fans could not agree more!
