Performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as the Hollywood Bowl, the Los Angeles Philharmonic was first founded in 1919.  In fact, it was single handedly financed by William Andrews Clark, Jr., a copper baron, arts enthusiast, and part time violinist.  Through the years the orchestra has been influenced and occasionally kept alive by the likes of Harvey Mudd, Dorothy Chandler, and Ernest Fleischmann. 

With a winter schedule and a summer schedule, the orchestra originally played at Trinity Auditorium and then at Clune's Auditorium, and since 1922, its summer season has been played at the Hollywood Bowl.  In 1963, the orchestra would move to the brand new Dorothy Chandler Pavilion which it would call home for the next forty years.  In 2003, they debuted at the brand new Walt Disney Concert Hall, which is considered one of the world's most celebrated venues, and a sensational place to hear music!
