Masters Golf Tournament Tickets

Masters Golf Tournament tickets are typically snatched up by golf fans across the globe, as this is one of the top four major golf tournaments every year.

Master Golf Tournament Tickets: Event History

The Masters Golf Tournament was originally founded by Bobby Jones and began as the Augusta National Masters Invitation Tournament in 1934. Jones was an amateur golfer that began his career in the early 1920s and dominated the sport for the next decade. The event was named for the golf course on which it was played, which was officially dubbed the Augusta National Golf Course in 1933. This tournament was won by Horton Smith the first year. By 1939, the name of the event was changed to the Masters Golf Tournament.

During World War II, no Master Golf Tournament tickets were sold because the course was used to raise cattle and turkey to help the war effort. The course became a place for golf competition again once the war was over, and it continues to attract golf pros and spectators to this day.

During the 1960s and 1970s, the tournament was dominated by golf greats like Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, with these three names hitting the top spots 11 times in just 20 years.

During the last two decades of the previous century, non-American golfers took the top spots to the delight of Master Golf Tournament ticket holders, but today, many U.S. born golfers dominate the sport once again.

Memorable Highlights with PGA Tour Tickets

One of our presidents was directly involved in the Masters Golf Tournament. President Eisenhower became a club member in 1948, just one year before the first coveted green jacket was awarded for this event.

The year 1956 saw the first televised tournament, so those who could not grab the Masters Golf Tournament tickets could enjoy the event from the comfort of home.

In 1975, Jack Nicklaus became the first five-time winner of the event, and at the age of 46 in 1986, Nicklaus took home his sixth green jacket.

Today, names like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson continue to sell Masters Golf Tournament tickets, making this one of the most popular sporting events every year.

Who Should Attend?
