Once a year, the world's best hockey players come together on a single stage. NHL All-Star Game tickets are always in great demand during the winter.

NHL All-Star Game Tickets: Historical Overview

The first NHL All-Star Game was played during the 1947-48 season. For the first two decades of the event, the defending Stanley Cup champions would face off against a group of All-Stars comprised from the other teams in the league. The games proved to be quite competitive, as the All-Stars ended up with a narrow 9-7-5 edge over the defending NHL champions in this format.

In the 1968-69 campaign, the league decided to match a pair of All-Star squads from each conference. After three decades of conference matchups, the NHL changed the format of the game again. In 1997-98, the NHL All-Star Game featured a battle between All-Star players from North America against a club of All-Stars from the rest of the world. This lasted for five years until the conference matchups were restored.

In 2010-11, the game shifted course again. While the voting process remained basically intact for the players chosen to compete in the game, each roster was determined through selections made by a pair of team captains without any regards to conference affiliation.
