The History of Rick Springfield Tickets

Born in 1949 in Sydney, Australia, Rick Springfield and began his love of music when he just was just 15 years old. During high school, Rick Springfield formed his first band, the Jordy Boys.  Alas, while he was just 16, the other members were well into their twenties and spending time in jail for such offenses as robbery.

Rick Springfield eventually made the move to better bands, like Rock House, which even played for U.S. troops in Vietnam, and Zoot, becoming a well-known act in Australia during this time. When Zoot split up, Springfield took his act solo and released his first hit in 1971 with "Speak to the Sky." This single caught the attention of U.S. record executives, and soon Springfield was signed by Capitol Records in 1972.

His debut album, Beginnings, produced the single, "Speak to the Sky," which became a mildly popular tune in the U.S. Springfield soon switched to Columbia Records, in hopes of breaking free from his image as a bubble gum pop star, and he released Comic Book Heroes. This album bombed, and Columbia did not renew their contract with Springfield.

A few years later, Rick Springfield moved to a smaller label, Chelsea, and released Wait for the Night. This album, too, went nowhere because the record label declared bankruptcy. Throughout all of his music drama, Rick Springfield began to gain interest for acting, dumping the notion of selling Rick Springfield tickets in exchange for appearing in a number of television shows.

In 1980, Springfield signed with RCA for his next album, Working Class Dog, while at the same time starting his role of Dr. Noah Drake on television's General Hospital. "Jessie's Girl," the first single from his album, was released, and Springfield soon found himself experiencing extraordinary success in both the music and acting sectors!

He bounced between releasing new albums and acting for a while, only to abandon music for movies. He still sings for crowds, though, as his 80s and 90s hits still resonate with fans of all ages.
