The New Mexico Lobos basketball program has made 12 appearances in the NCAA tournament. In the late nineties, the Lobos made four consecutive trips to March Madness under head coach Dave Bliss.

On the football side, New Mexico has played in ten bowl games over the years. The school's initial bowl game was back in 1938 at the Sun Bowl. From 1962-96, the Lobos failed to reach a single bowl game. However, in the last decade, New Mexico was able to make five postseason appearances under head coach Rocky Long. The program is still seeking to record its first top 25 finish.

Championship Seasons

In basketball, the New Mexico Lobos have captured 13 conference championships (10-regular season, 3-tournament).

From 1962-63 to 1998-99, the Lobos played in the Western Athletic Conference. In the league, New Mexico won six regular season crowns, while also capturing a pair of conference tournament titles.

As a current member of the Mountain West Conference, the Lobos have won the regular season championship in two of the last three years. In 2004-05, the school won its only MWC tournament title.

In football, the Lobos have won three WAC championships. Under head coach Bill Weeks, New Mexico made some early noise in the conference with three consecutive titles from 1962-64.

In hoops, the New Mexico Lobos play in one of college basketball's unique environments. The Pit (capacity of 17,126) is one of the most difficult places for an opposing squad to win.  New Mexico Lobos tickets provide spectators with a special college hoops experience.

New Mexico Lobos Tickets: 2011-12 Season

Under head coach Steve Alford, the New Mexico Lobos will be out to win more than 20 games for a fifth consecutive season in the 2011-12 campaign. The home slate will include several Mountain West Conference matchups.

On the gridiron, the Lobos will try to move up in the conference standings in 2011. Texas Tech and Air Force will headline this season's home schedule. New Mexico Lobos tickets can also be obtained for home outings against Colorado State, Sam Houston State, New Mexico State and UNLV.
