Oklahoma Sooners Tickets

With one of college football's all-time great programs, the Oklahoma Sooners have a devoted group of fans. Oklahoma Sooners tickets enable spectators to enjoy a special football experience.

Oklahoma Sooners Tickets: Historical Overview

The Oklahoma Sooners have been an elite college football program since the late forties. In 1947, Bud Wilkinson became the team's head coach. Over 17 seasons, Wilkinson led the Sooners to major accomplishments on the gridiron. The highlight was an NCAA-record winning streak of 47 games in the mid-fifties.

Oklahoma had another great run under head coach Barry Switzer (1973-88). In his 16 years on the sidelines, Switzer lost a total of just 29 games.

Currently, head coach Bob Stoops has the program at an elite level again, with eight top 10 finishes since taking over in 1999.

Despite being overshadowed by the football program, the Sooners basketball tradition is strong in its own accord. Oklahoma has appeared in 26 NCAA tournaments while making four trips to the Final Four.

Championship Seasons

In football, the Oklahoma Sooners have won seven national championships. During his run, Wilkinson won three of the titles (1950, 55-56). Switzer was able to match Wilkinson with three championships of his own (1974-75, 85). In just his second season with the school, Stoops was able to bring home another crown. The 2000 Sooners upset Florida State in the BCS championship game to give Oklahoma its seventh title.

In hoops, the university has produced 21 conference championships (14-regular season, 7-tournament).
