In football, the Michigan Wolverines have recorded the most all-time victories of any college program. The school has also posted the most top 10 finishes (37) of any college squad.

In the first half of the 20th century, Fielding Yost and Fritz Crisler were notable coaches for the Wolverines. More recently, Bo Schembechler (1969-89) and Lloyd Carr (1995-2007) enjoyed strong runs on the sidelines for Michigan.

Overall, the Wolverines have captured 42 Big 10 championships. The university has appeared in 40 bowl games as well.

While the hoops program hasn't been able to match the lofty football accomplishments, the Wolverines have enjoyed some success on the hardwood. In 22 NCAA tournament appearances, Michigan has reached the Final Four on six occasions. The school has won 13 conference championships (12-regular season, 1-tournament) over the years.  

Championship Seasons

The Michigan Wolverines have captured 11 national championships in football. Yost began Michigan's dominance with four consecutive titles from 1901-04. In the four seasons, the Wolverines posted an impressive record of 43-0-1. Yost also won championships in 1918 and 1923.

The school's most recent national title came in 1997. In an undefeated season, Carr guided the school to a pristine championship.

In basketball, the 1989-90 squad reached the NCAA title game under head coach Steve Fisher. With a couple of free throws in the final seconds, the Wolverines knocked off Seton Hall for the championship.

Michigan Wolverines Tickets: 2011-12 Season

Led by star quarterback Denard Robinson and new head coach Brady Hoke, the Michigan Wolverines will be out to compete for the Big 10 championship in 2011. Top rivals Notre Dame and Ohio State will headline this year's home slate. In addition, Michigan Wolverines tickets will also be sold for home contests against Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, San Diego State, Minnesota, Purdue and Nebraska.

In basketball, the Wolverines will be seeking a second consecutive NCAA tournament berth in 2011-12. The home schedule will include a number of conference games.
